Race Information
Hungerford Hares ‘Harey 8’ is registered under Trail Permit Number 4604. Please note that as a TRA race, participants must be 17 years of age or over on the event date to take part in the event.
There will be a special memento for all finishers and unique trophies for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Male and Female, and the winners for the following age categories: 1st F40, 1st M40, 1st F50, 1st M50, 1st F60, 1st M60 1st F70 and 1st M70. Winners will only receive one trophy even if they have won in 2 categories. For example, if you are first female overall you will not receive a second trophy even if you are first in your age category.
Minimum age 17 years on race day.
Starting and finishing at Hungerford Rugby Club, the route takes runners around a loop of the Triangle Field before heading out towards the common. There, runners will be directed on a course taking in the beautiful Port Down Common before descending gently towards Templeton/Trinity Stud. It then follows a circular route around footpaths providing stunning views of Combe and of the countryside before returning via the common.
Regrettably, the course is unsuitable for wheelchair athletes. Race under UK Athletics rules. No dogs are allowed on the Triangle field. There may be livestock in the fields out on the course therefore we ask that dogs are not taken on the course.
Charity
